Now until August 31st, the Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library is selling Restaurant Raffle Calendars. By purchasing a raffle calendar for $5, you could win up to 30 donated prizes from Wilmington and Tewksbury restaurants! Calendars can be found at the library’s Information Desk and the Book Store Next Door. Calendars can also be viewed and printed from the library’s website (www.wilmlibrary.org) and mailed, with payment, to the library. 100% of your sale will benefit children’s programming at the Wilmington Memorial Library.
Participating Wilmington restaurants include: The 99 Restaurant, As Good As It Gets, The Country Chef, Dunkin Donuts, Elia’s Country Store, Focaccia, Golden Ginger, Kendra & Anthony’s, Lucci’s Supermarket, Michael’s Place, Peter’s Pizza & Roast Beef, Pizza Mia/Uptown Deli, Rocco’s, Starbucks, Stop & Go Sandwich Shoppe, and Sunnyside Café.
Participating Tewksbury restaurants include: The Black Olive, Deli King Restaurant, Friendly’s, Long’s Kitchen, Mango II Thai Cuisine, Meadowlands Homemade Ice Cream, Papa Gino’s, Piccadilly Pub, Piezano’s Pizzeria, and Wicked Cheesy.

This fundraiser is a part of “Bon Appétit for Your Library,” a series of food-themed fundraisers held this summer to benefit the Wilmington Memorial Library’s children’s programming. “Bon Appétit for Your Library” also includes “Dining for Dollar” fundraising events at popular local restaurants and “Delicious Drawings” monthly gift basket raffles.
“Bon Appétit for Your Library” is organized by the Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library, a well-respected local non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Wilmington’s public library.
The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library has a long tradition of supporting library children’s programming. Last year, the Friends was the largest sponsor of library children’s programs, sponsoring 25 events for children in 2008, including concerts, plays, storytelling, magic shows, and puppet shows. The Friends provided prizes and/or refreshments at more than 50 additional library children’s programs last year, including book discussions and writing programs. Attendance at 2008 Friends-sponsored library children’s programs exceeded 1,600.
